Hygiene
Regular visits to our hygienists are essential for a healthy smile
and keeping gums healthy
For many people plaque and bacteria remain on their teeth even after brushing, and there will always be parts of your mouth you can’t reach. Our hygiene team provides a service designed to protect and improve your oral health and they will help you develop a cleaning routine that works best for you.
Healthy Gums
The gums support your teeth, holding them in place and acting as a barrier to bacteria. A healthy gum is pink and firm. However, over time plaque can build-up on the gum line, making the gums vulnerable to infection and disease
There has been recent news on mounting scientific evidence showing links between gum disease and other serious health problems such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke, rheumatoid arthritis and Alzheimer’s.
It is very important to treat the early signs of gum disease, if you experience any of the below problems please contact us:
- Bleeding of the gums after brushing or flossing red swollen or tender gums
- Gums that are receding or pulling away from the teeth
- Pus between your gums and teeth
- Persistent bad breath
